i know i know about the QT... i got the fish from a friend of mine and never even imagined it would have problems b/c of how healthy the fish was. I'm going to try the salt and temp increase method...after reading about it, it seemed to be the most natural and less stressful for the fish..thanks ...

Ick - please help
I've had the same group of freshwater Cichlids and PLecos for the last 4yrs, and have never had ick or any disease in my tank. I purchased my first Gold Nugget last week and it turns out the little lady has ick. Any recommendations? I have a 125g tank, so dosing the whole tank would take quite a bit ...

Grub for the lil ones
Right now i have a 12" Common Pleco, small rubberlip, (2) 5" bristlenoses, and a small clown in my Cichlid tank. - they've all been in there for about 18months. I've been feeding them Hikari veggies disks and was wondering if you guys thought of anything else i could throw in there. Any better types ...

.... Vampire Pleco
I saw this really cool Pleco at this awesome fish store in MD... the place is quite large and they carry some really nice plecos. I saw this one that i really liked but it was $55. Unfortunately i forgot the scientific name for it and the L-number. The name was "...... Vampire" on the tank. If i ...

What do i feed Mystus Leucophasis - (gold-flake catfish)
I have a Mystus Leucophasis (approx 2 months). He is in a 75G tank with African Cichlids and one pleco. He does very well in the tank and seems to be in very good shape. My only question is, what does he eat? My Pleco eats the algae wafers while my Cichlids eat pellets and flake food. He is getting ...

Thanks Silurus. You're help has been very useful. I looked at their profile and it did say they can get pretty nasty so i'll keep my eye on this guy. So far he is in a tank with a bunch of Mbunas that are around 3-4" in length. When he gets bigger, i'll just trade him in to the LFS so someone with a ...

Silurus, I think you found it!! Come to think about it, i do see him upside down quite a bit :) He swim right-side up as well, but he does tend to go upside down every now and then. Thanks again!! I'm amazed you found it with all the fish to choose from. Is this an uncommon catfish to have?? I've ...

Oh yeah, the "spots" on the catfish do look like flakes. They are uneven in size and relatively small. And there are only a few throughout his body. I just checked through all the "L's" and none of them looked the fish i have. I have a "common" pleco that i got at my LFS and the two are not similiar ...

I really wish i could get you guys a photo, b/c i know it's almost impossible to figure this out with the hundreds of different types out there. Here's a little more info that may help. Mine is about 4" in length and has much fewer spots than L182 does. The spots are infrequent and if he swims fast ...

Gold flake Catfish: Anyone hear of it
I have been searching catfish databases for 2 days now and i can not find the catfish that i just bought. I saw it at a fish store once and it was referred to as a "Gold Flake" Catfish. This fish is all black and has small gold specs sparatically placed on its body. It is darker in color than a Gold ...
