Re: Salt Tolerance?

My nitrates are kept at 10 with frequent testing and water changes. Normal room temps get up to 74-76F, so the tank is only slightly elevated at 76.7F. My tank has no substrate, only a few stones, and some caves for her, plants. So it is easy to clean out all waste. The ich came as a stresser with ...

Salt Tolerance?

Can you tell me please how salt tolerant L038 Peckoltia sp might be? I am treating her along with some goldfish for ich, with salt & warmer temp.

Re: Yellow Zebra Otocinclus Cocama

Were you talking to me? :) I'm sorry you had trouble getting healthy ones. I too had a bad experience on my first go around. I ordered 17 of them, for a friend and I to split. They began dieing right away. I paid well over $200. for them, and I felt bad that my friend had to drive over two hours for ...

Re: Yellow Zebra Otocinclus Cocama

Hi, I guess it's kind of a golden color. I noticed last night that one has very colorful sides, very irridescent. These are some really healthy looking fish. :) I will try to work on better pics, as they are starting to get more adventurous.

Re: Yellow Zebra Otocynclus Cocama

Hi Andy, It came to me this color. They all seem active, healthy, with nice round bellies. :) The seller had them several months.
I suppose you could call the color 'gold'.

Re: New Home!

It's for the outside. It worked perfectly and fits snug back there just like it is without really attaching it at all. The equipment kind of holds it too. Very cool..will get pics tomorrow. My NO3 was up from the last three days, 10,20, and today 40 ppm. So we are on our way to the end of the cycle ...

Ok..thanks guys, you pushed me to get a background today. I went to Office Depot and picked up something called a foam presentation board, it's flat black. It just has to be cut. Any good ideas on attaching it?

Re: New Home!

Thank you all for your compliments and suggestions. I know about the background, should have painted it with black but I chickened out. Any ideas on something that would work? I can buy it today. I just don't want to use those cheesy backgrounds.

New Home!

Hi, hope all of you have been well. I have been working on a new tank, it's a 20 long and will replace my 10 gallon. My corydoras, hara jerdonis, axelrodi rasboras, kuhli loaches, and shrimp will be in here as soon as it's done cycling. :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/waterfaller1/51608 ...

Re: Corydora Pygmaeus

Thanks so much Marc, that was very helpful. An interesting thing to note, I thought they were totally bottom fish...like my habrosus. But in the description it says they are a mid-column cat..and he is. That is cool, he scours the plant leaves for something/food. I was worried adding more bottom ...

Corydora Pygmaeus

Hello once again. I am now accidently the owner of a pygmy cory. A beautiful fish, he has an irridescent orange band down his side. Something I never noticed in photos. I say 'accidently', because he came shipped within a bag that was supposed to have 4 rasboras. Instead I got one pygmy cory, and ...

Re: Another Hara Jerdoni?

Thanks MatsP! Interesting to note~ last evening I went in to 'night watch' my tank. It is the only time i get to see the hara, and the kuhlis swimming around. I usually put on a low light so as not to disturb them, but the bulb blew and presently I have a much stronger one in that lamp. So anyway, I ...

Another Hara Jerdoni?

Hello, I will have the opportunity to replace the hara jerdoni that didn't make it in shipment free of charge. But should I? That is the question. I might be replacing my 10 gallon with a 20 long, because I need to change out the substrate. Right now my tank is a 10 gallon, fully planted, with the ...

Re: Hello Planet Catfish! *pics*

I think with the octocinclus, and a couple more rasboras, my tank will be set on livestock. I have the three loaches, four corydoras, and a hara jerdoni. No room for another bottom feeder. But thanks for the info. If I were to ever get a larger tank I might consider some of those you listed.
