albino cory deaths - Hemorhagic Septicemia?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can confirm or suggest another diagnosis on some corys, someone I know on another forum has been having problems with her new albino corys. I came to the conclusion that it may be Hemorhagic Septicemia because the picture she provided showed some redness on the gills / body ...

Re: Stocking query

Thanks for your advice :D

I'm very strict with water changes on all 5 of my tanks, they all get changed twice a week regardless of how lightly / heavily stocked they are.

They will be moving up to a 30G towards the end of the year so the 18G will be free for whatever takes my fancy

Stocking query

Ok just a quick one regarding stocking. I currently have 11 corys & 10 amano shrimp in an 18 Gallon but I would ideally like to add a few more corys without it being crowded. Visually to me I was thinking another 4 would be fine, but is this ok or could I possibly fit more then this? The reason I ...

Re: Corydoras melanotaenia query, beware lots of pics

I may just go with more melanotaenia as they are more shy and I would like to try to breed them but I understand it is a little more difficult to breed them. Maybe another 4 for now and once I put them in the 48" I'll get another 2 and get another 2 aeneus. The aeneus seem quite happy in their group ...

Re: Corydoras melanotaenia query, beware lots of pics

I do 25% bi weekly water changes, mainly because I'm dosing tropica plant nutrition+ and it recommends a 25% weekly w/c, but I prefer to do it twice. I figured 50 corys may be a little bit too much in my tank. I think I'll get 3 more melanotaenia & 3 more aeneus & bump the white cloud numbers up to ...

Re: Corydoras melanotaenia query, beware lots of pics

Thanks for your reply carp, I guess they are just unusually large, I did notice alot of the wild caught corys in that shop were very large. Wow zeny! That many? I'd like to believe it but how on earth would there be enough space for that many more, just doesn't seem possible to me, there's only 10 ...

Corydoras melanotaenia query, beware lots of pics

For a few weeks now I've been curious about my Corydoras melanotaenia, in particular their size. I originally only had 2 of them, I purchased a secondhand tank off ebay in Jan 07 and they were in it, I didn't think to ask at the time where they got them from or anything like that. Anyway they lived ...

Re: Albino panda corys

Thanks for the info Kim  I guess the 'albino' that the shop has in are just a slight colour morph and not true albinos then, still they are very very beautiful and I'm hoping they will put them up for sale so I can get some.

Re: Albino panda corys

I had the same problem, can't really find any specifics on them, obviously care will be the same but I was just curious about the actual colour of them. The shop won't sell them yet as they aren't convinced that they are albinos so I thought I'd take it upon myself to see if I can find info as to ...

Albino panda corys

I was just wondering if anyone has come across or keeps albino panda corys. One of my local fish shops has some albino panda corys in stock at the moment(imported from singapore). They aren't happy with them as they look like ordinary pandas but are very pale(the black patches looking a greyish ...

My tanks & fish, pics & vids

Here are some pics of my tanks & inhabitants, they aren't superb pics like some of the ones I've seen on here, but my camera is awful and very old. The tanks look very bare compared to a few weeks ago because I had to steal some for the goldie tank, plus I had a bit of an algae outbreak so had to ...

All about me...

Hello :D I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm not new to keeping fish, just new to this site, well.. sort of, I've been lurking for ages, just never got around to registering until now. Anyway I've been around fish all my life, my dad kept tropicals when I was small and as is the case ...
