My L-183 male ate his first batch, but that's the first and last time I've seen this happened. Usually, the male kicks the eggs out, as Janne says.

Wild caught plecos and internal parasites?

Iâ??m getting a lot of different plecos from Brazil tomorrow. Of course, Iâ??m planning to quarantine them, but Iâ??m wondering if I have to treat them for internal parasites? I think I read somewhere that â??almost every wild caught plecos have internal parasitesâ?

I started a thread about feeding Farlowella fry in December, which you can read here . I ended up using a two-litres plastic container that I left floating in another aquarium. Here I added an air stone and about 10 centimetres of water (four inches). I did this twice, one time with unhatched eggs ...

Thatâ??s what Iâ??ve heard, and thatâ??s why I like to try another brand. Another advantage is that Hikari is available in larger quantities than Wardly. My Wardly-box is empty after only a short while... In addition to the Wardly algae discs Iâ??ve been using Wardly shrimp sticks, which the fish see ...

Algae wafers

Iâ??ve been using Wardly algae discs for some time now, but after a discussion with some other catfish aquarists Iâ??m a little confused. They mean that JBL or Hikari are better brands. I havenâ??t any experience with these brands, but now Iâ??m thinking of changing to one of them. Have anyone tried ...

Thank you for your quick reply. Maybe I should go for the L-255, even though itâ??s more expensive. I mean, how often do you get a chance to buy this catfish? Iâ??ve never seen this catfish before, only in pictures. I guess this must be a rare catfish in other countries as well, not only in Norway. ...

I've read some articles, all of the above, so now I just have to wait for the eggs to hatch. The Farlowella male wasn't a very good father. He left the eggs alone for hours, and the result was that 20 of 30 eggs were eaten, probably by one of the ancistruses. Therefore, I decided to remove the eggs ...

My Ancistrus eats snails. I have lots of what is called "Malayan sand snails" (don't know the proper english name), and my Ancistrus often suck them out of their shells.
