Re: Feeding herbivores and carnivores in the same tank

You may want to look at the "new" Repashy Supergold. This is sort of like a mix of Soilent Green, Super Green and Bottom Scratcher. I feed this to pretty much all my fish, and I was surprised at how much my Zebras switched to it straight away. Spawn and Grow has the highest fat content of all the ...

Thanks Marc,
That is what I thought too. A year later the little one has a nice set of odontodes on the cheek, and also on the pectoral fins......

Re: L128 Spawn!

My preference is to leave the fry in the tank. I personally think that the thin bio film on the glass on the tank is a food source. The only time I have used breeding traps is where I have been able to "age" the breeding trap by having it in the tank for several weeks before using it. Just my ...

Re: feeding Zebra plecos

Yes you can mix the Repashy powders in whatever ratios you like before adding the water. I either mix the Bottom Scratcher and Soilent Green in a 75:25 ratio, or just feed the same ratio but 100% of each product (if that makes sense) depending on what the main target species is the day I make up the ...

Re: Zebra Pleco Feeding

I have two groups of 10 adults and feed them exclusively with Repashy Bottom Scratcher, and Repashy Soilent Green.

Never seen them eat, but they are spawning every few weeks, so it's all good.

Re: feeding Zebra plecos

I use Repashy Bottom scratcher and Repashy Soilent green.

This seems to be working as they spawn every few weeks now.

Also they have a thicker top edge on the tail fin. I would think female, or to young, due to the back half of the fish being smooth.

About 6+ cm
JBL novo tab and JBL novo fect
When they are ready they seem to start and don't stop.
Only secret is to give up them consistent conditions.
No special triggering events were tried, or necessary.

Never seen anything like that, perhaps she is just spring cleaning, as the vegetation may be being interpreted as something that should have drifted away???

Re: Is there a digital TDS meter you would recommend?

I use the same one as Shane, and find that it out performs a couple of other brands that I tried. Easy to calibrate etc. another thing that it pays to remember is that once you have a few "periods" of readings, then as long as the meter is consistent, it is the relativity between readings that is ...

The redness is basically broken blood vessels under the skin, so not unlike a bruise.

Re: Should Peckoltia sp. Zwerg be listed here?

I understand what everyone is saying and agree that randomly adding Zwerg to every dwarf sized fish is silly. In this case the breeder in the USA has had the fish for 9 years. He tried to identify them correctly and eventually they were identified by Yann as Peckoltia sp. Zwerg. Now the breeder is ...

Should Peckoltia sp. Zwerg be listed here?

Hi,
I am happy that Peckoltia sp. Zwerg is not another L number.
The question now becomes should Peckoltia sp. Zwerg be listed here?

And I am changing the title of the original post.

Re: Is L080 Peckoltia sp. Zwerg?

Hi,
I have just been advised that Peckoltia sp. "Dwarf" is listed in the Back to Nature Guide to L-Numbers as a separate fish, with no L Number like the other "sp." entries for Peckoltia here.

I wonder if it requires its own entry here?

Thanks

Re: Is L080 Peckoltia sp. Zwerg?

My German is not very good, but isn't Zwerg simply German for dwarf? When you searched the internet, did you find this site? http://www.l-welse.com/reviewpost/showproduct.php/product/1394/cat/32 Thanks, Yes it would appear that Zwerg = Dwarf I am still unsure whether it should be considered as a ...
