Re: Feeding pl*cos in a Community tank
Thanks both Racoll, Mats. I tried a algae wafer during the day, the tetras were fairly disinterested in them and the Danios (piranha) had a good go but gave up in the end. So i have some wafers ready to put in there later tonight at lights out. I must not forget that ive only had my Plecos three ...

Re: Feeding pl*cos in a Community tank
Racoll, i guess both the Tetras and the Plecos would enjoy a warmer temp. I might just increase it a little tomorrow. I bought a pack of frozen prawns today, but as soon as i put them in it was a feeding frenzy with Danios and Tetras everywhere ! Quite funny actually. Im wondering how many folks ...

Re: Feeding pl*cos in a Community tank
Hi Racoll, i have bought some algae wafers and i hope they are indeed a soloution to my problem. Thanks. My L104 has lots of wood to munch on, ive set my tank up with wood being 70% of the decor. Ive seen him tonight upside-down hanging underneath one piece of wood ! By co-incidence ive just ...

Feeding Plecos in a Community tank
Just how can it be done ? I have a choice of food available for my Plecos, 2x L260 1x104. But what ever i place in my tank seems to get snapped up by my rabid Danios and Tetras before it hits the bottom ! :x Will feeding the Plecos in complete darkness make a difference ? I always put cucumber in ...

Shane, your message is food for thought indeed. I think im going to enjoy creating the best conditions i can for both my Farlowella and Otos. Above all else i want them to be healthy and happy. I know they will both appreciate a mature tank, so i will be patient and spend some time getting all the ...

Racoll, what an informative reply. Thanks. I have been deliberating for a few weeks now as to what i should populate my tank with, i like so many sorts of fish. But one thing is for certain i want to keep it simple (only 2 or 3 types of fish per tank) and create a natural tank (to make it a healthy ...

Hi Gage, Shane. Yes, i could imagine how the Farlowella need that easy access availability of food, they seem very placid fish that they are there to blend in and be invisible in their environment, avoiding predators. Do you know what i mean ? My tank is about 33 gallons so i could keep 6 Farlowella ...

Sterbai Corys
Hello and Happy Christmas ! :D Inspired by the "Corydoras in the Amazon" video on Youtube (do a search, its well worth a view, its stunning), im considering one option of stocking my new 125L tank (33g 80x50x36cms) as a Cory tank. I was wondering how many of Corydoras Sterbai i could fit into my ...

Best Plec for Kuhli
Hello All, Im struggling to pin down tankmates for my proposed bottom-dweller tank. Im certain of owning some Kuhli Loaches. But what catfish could i put in there ? Something quite placid and easy going. I like the look of Plecs. Is it better to pop one or two in, or like the Kuhlis - the more of ...
