A huge square/cube tank like 200x200x100cm on a plinth at eye level for L27 (Xingu and Goldlines) that had a natural spring/stream as a constant water source.

Re: Setting up a 680 liter Corydoras friendly tank
Cant say much with regards to the Corydoras, but if your tank is 69x61x61 cm then its 256 litres (gross) not 680 litres.

Very nice. They look very similar to my one with the orange and white caudal fin. Do you intend to try and breed them?

Panaque sp. L27 ID
Bought as a Xingu but I dont think it is. He is definitely L27 but as to which river, I dont know. Body shape is coherent with my other L27 and the dentition (sorry no pic) is similar to my other L27, they are arranged wider than the narrower V shape of L190. The tail has a few transparent 'windows ...

Where can you find taxonomic/scientific descriptions
I have recently become interested in the taxonomy and scientific descriptions of Loricariidae, is there anywhere I can look to find them, be it on the internet or books. Specifically the Panaque genus.

Re: Peru/Colombia 2009
L350 was used for the now described Hemiancistrus pankimpuju, not a panaque, although it does look similar to Panaque bathyphilus (L90), it comes from the Rio Huallaga.

Re: Peru/Colombia 2009
Very jealous. I have been looking at a similar thing in Peru, an Earthwatch research trip. If you dont mind, how much do you expect the trip to cost so I know how big a dent it would cause in my student loan.

Re: ID my cory's please
I think you have a typing error, bloth, I think you mean blotch, they do have a black blotch on the dorsal which may not be apparent in the last 2 pictures but can be seen in the first 2.

Re: Royal pl*co and acrylic
Wood is major part of their diet (xylophagy) but they will dabble in everything so they are omnivores.hotsauce48 wrote:They eat wood?I thought they were omnivores.

Re: Royal pl*co and acrylic
Royals eat wood for a living and would definitely scratch the acrylic so stick with glass.
These would ruin the inside of your acrylic tank.
