Thanks all! TM Aquatics only has a couple available. I’ve reached out to Willie - waiting to hear back. Still looking in the meantime if anyone else has suggestions.

Update LDA Numbers

Any chance we can update the LDA numbers... I know there are a bunch of new ones. I bought some LDA 81's a while back and can't find much on them. It would be great to have some information here.

Re: Male of Female 183??

He's about 3-3.5 inches. I'm pretty sure he's a male since there are a few bristles that look like they are starting to go up his nose. That gives me three males and no females :( Luckily I have 4 other young ones but it will be some time before they are large enough to sex. If anyone one is ...

L-066 Advise

I'm getting three adult L-066's next week. I've done my research but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on keeping/conditioning/breeding them. One of my main questions is what would the ideal tank size be (for 3 adults)?

Re: BN Breeding size

How well are the male's bristles developed at this point. I have a female that is definitely carrying eggs and I was wondering if my male (who is just starting to get some of his bristles) would do the job

Re: What Happens When...

I'm wondering if the calico trait is dominate over the albino or standard coloration gene. I know it's probably not as simply as strict dominance vs recessive but I'm just wondering.

What Happens When...

Does anyone know what the outcome of crossing a pure calico BN with a pure albino BN or a pure brown BN will result in. I've crossed a pure albino with a pure brown and got all browns.

Re: Sex this BN

I've been thinking this one was a female. Out of 4 siblings, I got three definite males and then this one... which has always been a bit smaller. It only has the bristles around its nose... none up the center.

Now my question is... if she's a female... what's the best way to plump her up?

Will female cories lay eggs by themselves?

I have had a lone female albino aeneus in a 30 gallon tank for a while. About a week ago I threw in about 3 more aeneus (which hatched on 1/14/08 and are all about 3/4" or less) and today I noticed eggs. I didn't observe her laying so I don't know if one of the smaller cories fertilized the eggs or ...

Has anyone figured out the genetics behind the long fins of the common bristlenose? If I have a pair of short finned bristlenose that came from long finned parents will some of their offspring have long fins?

You can't really go wrong with a school of otos as far as I am concerned but I just don't know that they can solve an algae problem.

If you aren't opposed to adding snails I would try Olive Nerites. They are the best algae eating snails but won't touch plants. They will lay eggs (which can be an eye sore) but they won't hatch in freshwater.
