Thanks for the info Marc! It's good to know that there's a "link" in the Netherlands. Although I will decide on the destination when the time comes, after making a billion phone calls to determine what's available and where. I know that Netherlands is the place where finding these lovely cats could ...

I've been obsessed with L. oncinus ever since I first saw them some seven years ago. I've now got eleven of them, five in the oscar tank, six in a tank dedicated stricly for them (although there's room for more Auchenipteridids species...). I've seen some very possible breeding activity in the oscar ...

Doradids can certainly hold their own when it comes to hiding places. Only fish that I have that can take a costatus' hiding place is a large L-27. Usually they share the hide with no problems. About daytime activity; I've kept this species for over ten years now, and 3 of the 5 fish I've kept are ...

I had a fully grown (atleast hopely fully grown, she's now about 26 cm) P. Costatus in a 360 litre tank. the tank was nowhere near big enough, especially when the fish got going (which happened about five seconds after the lights went out), so I had to move her into a bigger tank. You could buy a ...

I have jaguar catfish in two different tanks, the larger which is just a bit bigger than yours also houses two oscars, one striped raphael and a pleco (gibbiceps). I've never witnessed the oscars harassing the four jaguars in any way. Actually, sometimes when feeding, the jaguars come out of their ...
You must have been very tired indeed, to fall asleep looking as such a pectacle
Been kicking my self.. I've been wondering if it was because of the heatwave we had, that lasted for about a month when every day the temperature in the tank.. rose? (sorry for my crappy ...

Liosomadoras oncinus by far. I have 4 of them and 6 more are on the way. They're pretty rare in this corner of the world. They're everything I love in a catfish: big mouthed, greedy and beautiful in a very catfishian way. They're a lot louder than any doradid I've ever had, and since the tank is one ...
