Regular readers of these review pages will be familiar with thesinking feeling I get everytime a new Corydoras books arrives for review. So here we go again. Fantastic, beautiful, and very useful. How is that for a quick review?

If you have even a remote interest in Corydoras you NEED to have this wonderful book by Werner Seuess. The book is basically divided into three sections: Corydoras in the community tank, the breeding of Corydoras, and a comprehensive species guide.

The first section covers diet, temperature, and medication. All of these sections are well written with good information. The breeding section gives you 15 pages of information on everything from how to set up the breeding tank to what to feed the fry. There are also "breeding tables" that give specific spawning information on 40 Corydoras species.

The final section, and the bulk of the book, is devoted to every species described at the time of publication plus information on the "C-Number" Corydoras up to C 17. For every species in the book there are beautiful photos or scientific quality drawings and range maps. Also included in this section are many photos of natural habitat and fish collecting stations in South America.

I could go on gushing about this beautiful book, but instead I'll stop so that you can go and buy your own copy.
